From a hip hotel for £37 a night to a St. Petersburg palace, Tom Chesshyre has the insider’s guide to the best new places to stay.
This claims it will be London’s first “six-star” hotel – so says the developer, Fox Linton Associates, the upmarket design company behind the Dorchester Collection’s fancy Coworth Park in Berkshire. Due to open in November, the hotel, near Hyde Park Corner, will have elegant rooms inspired by Art Deco design, which fits in with the buiding’s 1920’s heritage.
The highlight will be a jazz lounge with a grand piano, a stage and crystal chandeliers – for which leading jazz acts will be booked. There will also be a cocktail bra and an Italian restaurant.
