Located on one of London’s most prestigious addresses in Knightsbridge is the site for a new 36 suite luxury hotel scheduled to open on 1st December 2012, which will parallel the very best of hotels in the world.
The Wellesley, is located at 11 Knightsbridge, managed by City and Country Hotels and is being developed by Rhimesong at a cost of £36 million, the property was formerly commercial offices.
The hotel will take on both a contemporary and classic style with interiors created by award-winning design experts Fox Linton, combining the building’s 1920s art deco history and glamour with stylish contemporary touches. In addition to its 36 suites, the hotel will incorporate a Cigar Lounge and Terrace, The Crystal Bar, The Oval Restaurant, and the Jazz Room.
The Private Terrace will be one of the finest in Central London with stunning views overlooking Hyde Park and will also play home to a private Cigar Bar. The Crystal Bar will house a Whisky and Cognac wall. The bijou Oval restaurant will serve refined Italian cuisine with approximately 30 covers next to a dedicated Jazz Room which is to showcase both established and up-and-coming Jazz acts in an intimate atmosphere. The Jazz Room at The Wellesley is a relief for local Knightsbridge residents who enjoyed the location’s musical legacy and have spoken out about their preference to have a glamorous Jazz hotspot and bar re-established.
The hotel suites are to be situated over six floors, with the six floor providing London’s most acclaimed Presidential Suite with 4 bedrooms, uninterrupted views over Hyde park, personal humidor, and boardroom – making it the largest capacity suite in London with all the technological advancements for discerning business travellers and high profile individuals who require several rooms.
“We are delighted to be creating one of the most high quality suite hotels in London, the location of the hotel and size of 36 rooms determined that the product is not only elegant and private but the service, restaurant and bar offerings will be second to none. We are very much looking forward to the opening of The Wellesley in December 2012. Andrew Shapland, the infamous Roving Ambassador has been appointed as our Ambassador to take the story of The Wellesley to the World with my team and I.”
