Azura announces exciting new launch in Northern Mozambique

Cape Town, May 6th, 2011 – Azura Mozambique has announced it will open a new lodge towards the end of this year in the northern part of the country. It is signed agreements with the owner of Quilalea to redevelop and re-launch the former island lodge as a new Azura property. Work has already started to turn it into a breathtaking new product as a second edition to their portfolio. Azura at Quilalea Private Island will be managed by the same award winning team, have that unmistakable, chic Azura style and will put the stunning island back on the map as one of the country’s top beach destinations.

The six month renovation involves redeveloping the entire infrastructure, expanding facilities and upgrading villas. Developments include a completely new water sports centre to fully embrace the island’s fantastic diving, a refurbished Front of House with bar and relaxation area, a state of the art TV and Media Room and a new kitchen in which to recreate Azura’s renowned five star cuisine.

The nine villas will be expanded and beautifully revamped in that subtle yet stunning Azura way, with spacious bathrooms, natural furnishings and pure African elegance. There will be three categories for guests to choose from; Sunrise Villa’s with stunning sea views, Sunset Villas with a beachside sala and refreshing outside shower and Villa Quilalea – an exceptional property on the cliff top with alluring plunge pool and breathtaking views over the Indian Ocean.

The attentive staff that have been one of the main attributes to Azura’s success are to work closely with those at the former Quilalea to ensure that guests continue to receive the notoriously impeccable service. Azura’s management team will be in place to ensure everything runs as smoothly as on Benguerra Island and operations will come from the same Head Office.

Azura @ Qulialea prices start from $650 per person per night.

Exciting opening specials to be announced soon.
