British Airways celebrates 80 years of flying to Cape Town with a touch of glamour

Model Georgia May Jagger (and daughter of Mick) recently flew down to Johannesburg with a hist if English and South African sports stars to help celebrate 80 years of British heritage and services in South Africa.

Event highlights included a fashion show of historic uniforms.

There was a friendly game of touch rugby with eight youngsters from the Durban-based Umthombo Street Children charity, of which BA is a proud supporter, taking on former Springbok Gcobani Bobo, Wasps captain Marco Wentzel and injured flanker Schalk Burger.

BA recently increased it’s services between London and Johannesburg from double-daily to a 17 a week. During the South African summer BA will also provide overnight double daily services to Cape Town, an increase of seven flights a week over the current daily schedule.
